Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment
The Common European Framework of Reference provides an international common standard used to measure the level of oral and written comprehension and expression in a given language.
The Common European Framework establishes a series of levels for all languages that facilitate the comparison and mutual recognition of qualifications issued by certified institutions. Based on this, ESIC Idiomas uses this descriptor to define the following levels for the assessment of the linguistic skills of the students of Spanish as a Foreign Language:
- Level A1: Breakthrough
- Level A2: Waystage
- Level B1: Threshold
- Level B2: Vantage
- Level C1: Effective Operational Proficiency
- Level C2: Mastery
The Common European Framework determines the necessary skills that the student must master in each of the levels, regarding oral and written expression and comprehension.
